The Florida Panthers have sent forward Dave Bolland to AHL Portland for a conditioning assignment, the team announced Tuesday. In a related move the team has recalled forward Rocco Grimaldi from the AHL.
“We need Dave to play more minutes and regain his confidence with the offensive side of his game, so that he can help us in the second half of the season,” said general manager Dale Tallon in the team’s announcement.
This season, the 29-year-old Bolland has one goal and four assists through 25 games. Bolland is the highest paid forward on the team with four years left on his contract.
Since signing his five-year pact with the Cats, Bolland has played 78 games with seven goals and 21 assists.
Grimaldi, a 22-year-old rookie, has been recalled. He’s played 10 games with Florida so far this season, scoring a single goal with 12 shots.
