Craig Adams (born April 26, 1977) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2014-15 season. Drafted 223rd overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Adams spent seven seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, winning the Stanley Cup in 2006, the first time in his career, while being one of the team’s alternate captains. He was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2007-08 season, playing in 71 games spread over two seasons with the team before a trade sent him to the Penguins during the 2008-09 season. Adams spent the final six seasons with the Penguins, capturing the Stanley Cup for a second time in 2009.
Adams is the first player to have been born in Brunei to play in the NHL. His father worked for Shell Oil at the time of his birth, but the family moved to Calgary, Alberta shortly after. He also became the first Brunei-born player to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup. During the 2004-05 lock-out, Adams played for Milano in the Italian league, amassing 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 30 games. The team would capture the Italian Cup.
