Johan Kjell Garpenlöv (born 21 March 1968) is a former Swedish ice hockey left winger and current head coach of Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Elite League (SHL). Initially drafted in the fifth round (85th overall) by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft, Garpenlöv would go on to play with the San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, and Atlanta Thrashers. He played in the 1996 Stanley Cup Final with the Panthers, losing to the Colorado Avalanche.
Internationally, he represented Sweden and won two World Championships. When he retired from professional hockey, with an additional three SHL championships on his mantle, Garpenlöv got into coaching. He led his home country’s junior and senior programs to various events, including two Winter Olympic Games.
