The National Collegiate Hockey Conference is entering its second season. While it’s the off-season, there’s still breaking news. Currently, a number of players are attending NHL development Camps.
Last summer, I wrote a blog post on top-10 must follow NCHC twitter accounts. This summer, I have decided to put together the NCHC social media guide for NCHC hockey fans.

Conference Web Page: The official National Collegiate Hockey Conference website is a good source for all of the up-to-date NCHC news. You can get all of the day-to-day happenings for all of the NCHC teams.
Commissioner: National Collegiate Hockey Conference Commissioner, Josh Fenton, is an avid user of twitter and will interact with the NCHC fans.

Colorado College
Team Web Page: For all of your official Colorado College Tiger news, check out Colorado College’s official webpage. Dave Reid is the Sports Information Director for the Colorado College Tigers.
Team History: The Tigers first season of hockey was the 1937-38 season. The Tigers are a two-time NCAA champion (1950, 1958).
Newspaper: The Colorado Springs Gazette is the official newspaper for the Colorado College Tigers. Joe Paisley is the beat writer that covers the Tigers. Paisley is one of the hardest working beat writers in college hockey.

University of Denver
Team Web Page: For all of your official University of Denver news, check out the Denver’s official webpage. Currently, Denver doesn’t have an official team name, or a Sports Information Director designated for hockey.
Team History: The University of Denver is historically one of the powerhouse teams in NCAA hockey. Denver is a seven-time NCAA champion (1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1969, 2004, 2005).
Newspaper: The Denver Post is the official newspaper of the University of Denver. Mike Chambers is the beat writer that covers Denver hockey. Chambers will engage colleagues and fans alike on twitter. He’s also not afraid to engage the fans of other college hockey teams in his blog posts. Chambers also covers the Colorado Avalanche for the Denver Post.

Miami University
Team Web Page: For all of your official Miami University’s hockey news, check out the Miami web page. Chad Twaro is listed as the Sports Information Director of the Miami University Hockey team.
Team History: Miami’s played its first season of collegiate hockey during the 1978-79 season. To date, Miami has never won an NCAA title. The RedHawks did come close in 2009, losing to the Boston University Terriers in the championship game of the Frozen Four.
Newspaper: The Oxford Press is the official newspaper of the Miami University RedHawks.

Minnesota Duluth
Team Web Page: For all of your official University of Minnesota Duluth hockey news, check out the official Minnesota Duluth web page. Bob Nygaard is the Sports Information Director for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldog hockey team.
Team History: The UMD Bulldogs won their only NCAA title in 2011. The Bulldogs are the last NCHC team to win a NCAA title.
Newspaper: The Duluth News Tribune is the official newspaper for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. Rick Weegman is the beat writer that covers the Bulldogs.
Radio: Bruce Ciskie is Red Rock Sports Director and his station carries the UMD Bulldogs Hockey games. Ciskie also does play-by-play for the Bulldogs radio broadcasts.

Team History: University of Nebraska-Omaha has yet to win a NCAA title. UNO’s played its first season of collegiate hockey in 1997-98.

Team History: The University of North Dakota is a seven-time NCAA Champion (1959, 1963, 1980, 1982, 1987, 1997, 2000). UND played its first season of collegiate hockey during the 1946-47 season.
Newspaper: The Grand Forks Herald is the official newspaper of the University of North Dakota Hockey team. Brad Schlossman is the beat writer for the UND hockey team. Schlossman is regarded as one of the great beat writers in college hockey. Schlossman is a must follow at his twitter account, if you’re interested in UND Hockey. Sports writer Tom Miller also covers the UND hockey team as well.
Radio: Tim Hennessy is the play-by-play voice of the UND hockey team. Hennessy returns for his 35th season behind the microphone.
