Celebrities get asked to prom all the time. The ones that don’t get publicized frequently are the professional athletes (who just might get more requests than anyone else).
Since his days with the Nashville Predators, Kevin Klein has always been a great team player and even better person with the fans. Earlier today he was asked to come out to a signing for Russ Cohen‘s new book ‘100 Things Rangers Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die‘. At the event he was met by two diehard Rangers fans, Julie Greenstein and her daughter Rachel. The following conversation ensued:
“To be honest, I thought he’d say yes because of the type of guy he is, but I’m still in awe he said yes,” said Rachel who has been a Rangers fan all of her life.
While her favorite is (and has been) Marc Staal since his days with the Sudbury Wolves (OHL), the fact Klein accepted her prom request knocked him up a few spots on her ‘favorite players’ list.
According to Rachel, “He’s definitely moved up in my heart.”
Kevin Klein is a good man.
Great story Shawn, as always. What a class act Kevin Klein is.
Good guy.
