The message was simple, Thank you. That’s what former Norfolk Admirals Josh Manson, captain Dave Steckel and former Head Coach Jarrod Skalde said when asked,” Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?” On April 17th as the Anaheim affiliation and the AHL ceased operations in Norfolk, Virginia.
Below is what they had to say.
Head Coach Jarrod Skalde
Thank you for your continued support. It wasn’t the ideal season the way things started. Then with the news that we wouldn’t be here, but they (fans) continued to come out and support us. It was great to play here and have those fans to continue to come out and be supportive of us.I thank them for this season.
Josh Manson
Thank you. Their support was unwavering. Knowing that we were leaving and still coming out for this last game. The atmosphere was one of the best I’ve had during my tenure here. Just thank you for everything.
Dave Steckel
Thanks for everything, from the booster club to the fans that show up on Wednesdays to the fans that are here for the weekend. It was fantastic! As far as the people in Norfolk and the people in Virginia Beach they’ve been nothing, but the best to each and everyone of these guys.
Not to worry fans there will be hockey at Scope come October, When the Norfolk Admirals turn over a new leaf with the Edmonton Oilers Starting October 16th as they return to ECHL when they face off against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30.
