The NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts have signed Boston College standout Emily Pfalzer, general manager Linda Mroz announced on Thursday.
Pfalzer, who was raised in the Buffalo area, finished her college career in the 2014-15 season with 102 points, which leads all BC defenseman all-time (no defenseman has ever crossed 100 points), as do her 79 career assists.
The 5-foot-2 defenseman had a decorated senior year, being named First Team All-American and Hockey East’s Best Defenseman for a second consecutive seasons.

She has been entrenched in the U.S. team for international play, joining USA Hockey’s national camps at age 14. She earned a gold medal at the World Championships in Malmö, Sweden this spring, putting up a goal and an assist from the blue line, and grabbed gold at the Four Nations Cup last year.
Pfalzer is another in a line of late contract announcements that have been announced this week.
