The Detroit Red Wings have signed 18-year-old forward Evgeny Svechnikov to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced on Friday.
Svechnikov was drafted in the 1st round of the 2015 draft (19th overall) and had already been returned to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL, where he put up 32 goals and 46 assists through 55 games last season.
So far, back in the Q, he’s scored three goals and three assists in three games.
