After a pair of tough losses last week, the Buffalo Sabres are looking to get into the win column for the first time this season against the also winless Columbus Blue Jackets.
Captain Brian Gionta remains out for Buffalo while defenseman Jake McCabe has been called up from Rochester, and will find himself in the lineup. Starting in goal for the Sabres is Chad Johnson, who gave up four goals in the Sabres 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Expect some more line juggling throughout the game from coach Dan Bylsma as he looks to find a way to spark an offense that has just two goals in two games. Ryan O’Reilly will be the man to watch today, as he has yet to find a groove with Tyler Ennis on the team’s top line.
On the other side of the ice, the Blue Jackets are coming off two straight losses to the New York Rangers to open the season, one of which saw the Rangers score three goals in 77 seconds to take the victory.
