Logan Couture has been back for just two games from a broken leg he suffered during a practice in on October 15. Now, he may be out again.
The 26-year-old center left Wednesday’s overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers midway through the second period and did not return.
“I’ve got it at lower-body, and that’s all I’m going to keep it at right now,” said coach Peter DeBoer after the game.
DeBoer didn’t off any other news or information on Couture. Just prior to leaving the game, Couture was on the ice with the team’s top power play unit and appeared to be skating just fine. There was no incident during his final shift that indicated an injury had occurred.
Couture has missed 23 games already this season due to the broken leg. It was a stretch of ups and downs where the team’s depth has been a consistent question mark. If he’s gone for any time with an injury now, it’s unfortunate for San Jose, who could use him. They are sinking quickly in the standings, going 0-4-1 over their last five games.
He has no goals and two assists through five games this season.
