The Minnesota Wild will have goaltender Devan Dubnyk back in the net when they face the New York Rangers in St. Paul on Thursday, the team announced.
Dubnyk was injured in a December 5 game against the Colorado Avalanche and hasn’t played since then. The team gave over starting duties to Darcy Kuemper who has gone 3-0-2 in Dubnyk’s absence (including earning the decision in the game that Dubnyk exited).
Kuemper has allowed just six goals in those five games, with only three goals coming during regulation. He has a .943 save percentage over that stretch, inclusive of the two overtime goals. That jumps up to a .954 save percentage at even strength.
Back on the team’s fourth line, they’ll give Jarret Stoll his Wild debut after claiming him off waivers on Tuesday. He will make his Wild debut against the team that waived him.
Stoll has just one goal and three assists through 29 games this season, struggle in many facets of his game while playing for the Rangers. Former fourth line center Erik Haula will be the player scratched to allow Stoll to draw into the lineup, Mike Yeo told reporters on Thursday.
