The Pittsburgh Penguins will take to the ice tonight without winger Carl Hagelin, who appears to be suffering concussion-like symptoms.

Hagelin briefly left the Penguins’ Saturday matinee game with the Calgary Flames after he tried to enter the Flames’ zone at the 14:52 mark of the first period. He was met by Calgary forward Josh Jooris, who appeared to strike the left side of Hagelin’s face. He suffered facial cuts and needed stitches from the team trainer. He returned to the game at 6:53 of the second period.
When asked after the game if Hagelin underwent concussion protocol, head coach Mike Sullivan said the Swede just needed stitches.
Used primarily on the Penguins’ top two lines, Hagelin has scored 10 assists and 13 points in 21 games for Pittsburgh this season. He was acquired in a midseason trade with the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 16 in exchange for winger David Perron and defenseman Adam Clendening.
No Hagelin today. Didn't feel well when he woke up. Passed concussion protocol yesterday.

The Penguins will face the Devils in New Jersey at 5:00 pm EST. Although they will be without Hagelin, it will be the debut of defenseman Justin Schultz, who was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers just before the NHL trade deadline.
