Tyler Seguin will miss three-to-four weeks due to a torn Achilles suffered in last night’s 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, according to Stars’ GM Jim Nill. The team also announced the injury via their official Twitter earlier this afternoon.

Following last night’s win over the Lightning, head coach Lindy Ruff stated that Seguin was cut and the team would know more tomorrow. As it turns out, Seguin’s Achilles was cut approximately 15-percent through, sidelining the young star for what is likely the remainder of the season.
The good news for the Stars of course, is that according to Nill, Seguin should return for the playoffs.
The injury occurred toward the end of regulation, when Seguin got tangled up with Tampa Bay defenseman Anton Stralman with roughly 20 seconds remaining on the clock. Seguin limped off the ice and directly to the locker room for evaluation.
Seguin currently has 33 goals and 73 points through 72 games this season, which ties him for third among the NHL scoring leaders alongside Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators.
