Connor McDavid opened the scoring in Sunday’s gold medal match between Canada and Finland. It was his first goal of the tournament.
It was the only scored during the first period, giving the Canadians a 1-0 lead and a 10-7 lead in shots as the two national squads head the locker room in the final game of Worlds 2016.

Though he only has the one goal, it’s his ninth point of the tournament, tying him with Auston Matthews for sixth all-time in U19 scoring at the World Championship. That makes for three skaters in this year’s tournament ranking among the top 10 in U19 scoring. Patrik Laine’s 12 points have put him second all-time, behind Sidney Crosby’s 16.
