It’s that time of year again.
The annual simulation of the Stanley Cup Final is upon us. As per usual, the sim is done using a (mostly) updated version of NHL 94.
This year it’s a match up featuring many great players. The San Jose Sharks are in the final for the first time in franchise history while the Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for the fourth cup in team history.
Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are set to play for their first Stanley Cup after years of coming up just short and gaining the stigma of not being good enough to win the big one. On the other side of things is Sidney Crosby who is in the Final for the third time, going 1-1 in his first two attempts in 2008 and 2009 against the Detroit Red Wings. Both coaches are new to their team with Mike Sullivan coming in midseason, and Peter Deboer joining the Sharks prior to the start of the regular season.
Who will come out on top in what should be an all-time classic series? Check out the highlights and see for yourself. And be sure to let us know who you think takes home the Stanley Cup this year in the comment section below.
