After a voting process that saw NHL fans select one of eight possible choices, it was announced at the NHL Awards on Wednesday night that St. Louis Blues superstar Vladimir Tarasenko will be on the cover on NHL 17 when it hits stores this fall.
Tarasenko beat out Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks in the final vote of the contest.

It’s the first time since 2000 — Chris Pronger — that a member of the St. Louis Blues will grace the cover of the game. Tarasenko continued his rise to stardom with a 2015-16 season that saw him tally 40 goals and 34 assists in 80 games. He also had 15 points in 20 playoff games.
NHL 17 launches on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 13. The Hockey Writers will have full coverage of the game throughout the summer and beyond its launch. Be sure to follow THW Gaming on Twitter for the latest news and thoughts.
