New Jersey Devils prospect Pavel Zacha will miss the remainder of the team’s prospect development camp due to a hip pointer, according to multiple reports. The same injury caused him to miss the second round of the AHL playoffs with the Albany Devils.

The Devils drafted the Czech forward with the sixth overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Zacha will miss the remaining on-ice drills at prospect camp, but he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the club’s training camp in September.
He skated in one game with the Devils at the end of the 2015-16 season, logging a pair of assists alongside fellow Czech and long-time Devils alternate captain Patrik Elias. Zacha also skated in three regular season games with the Albany Devils in the AHL, logging three points. In five playoff games with the team, he had three points.

Pavel Zacha has spent two seasons with the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League. In 88 games, he has netted 44 goals and 98 total points with a plus-22 rating.
The New Jersey Devils have added a big scoring threat up front in Taylor Hall this summer, and they will likely have several forward spots available as they enter training camp. Zacha will be a prime candidate for an opening night roster spot after a great season in Sarnia and a standout performance both in the NHL and AHL at the end of the season in short stints.
