The Arizona Coytes have re-signed AHL forward Stefan Fournier to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Friday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the deal is worth $632,500 at the NHL level, reports Sarah McLellan of AZ Sports Central.
The 24-year-old posted seven goals and 11 points with 143 penalty minutes through 56 AHL games last season, split between the St. John’s IceCaps and the Springfield Falcons, former AHL affiliate of the Coyotes. He also had one assist through five ECHL games with the Brampton Beast.
Fournier came into the Coyotes organization as a part of what was essentially a three-team trade that famously sent John Scott to the Montreal organization shortly before the 2016 All-Star Game, where Scott was eventually crowned MVP.
In the end, the Coyotes wound up with Fournier and Jarred Tinordi, who was suspended shortly after the trade for the use of banned PEDs.
UPDATE:
A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Coyotes had not yet re-signed Jarred Tinordi. He was re-signed to a one-year deal this summer.
