Flyers Promote Chris Pryor to Assistant General Manager

The Philadelphia Flyers have promoted Chris Pryor to the position of assistant general manager and director of player personnel, the team announced Wednesday.

Like many with the Flyers, he’s been inside the organization for a long while. The 2016-17 season will be his 17th in Philadelphia, having served the last three seasons as the director of scouting.

Pryor joined the club in 1999 as a U.S. amateur scout and worked in that position until he was named the director of hockey operations in 2006.

His NHL experience extends beyond the Flyers, having worked with the New York Islanders from 1992-99 as the director of player development, among other positions. He also spent time playing in the NHL with the Minnesota North Stars and Islanders. Through 82 career NHL games, he scored a goal and five points.
