The Montreal Canadiens have named 27 players to their 2016 rookie camp, including 17 draft picks, four free agents and six invitees.
Once convened, the team will do medicals and an on-ice practice on Sept. 15 before heading to London, Ont. for a three-day prospect tournament against prospects from the Pittsburgh Penguins (roster), Ottawa Senators (roster) and Toronto Maple Leafs (roster).
After the tournament concludes they’ll return to Montreal’s Bell Centre for more on-ice practices through Sept. 21.

Of the players invited, a handful are hoping to make an impression and head into this fall’s training camp with an eye on a roster spot. Some of the top players include Nikita Scherback, Artturi Lehkonen, Martin Reway and Michael McCarron. Also making a push will be top prospects unlikely to be in pro hockey this season like Mikhail Sergachev and Noah Juulsen.
The camp will also feature the Habs’ best goaltending prospects, Zachary Fucale, Charlie Lindgren and Michael McNiven.
