Tests will determine whether Anders Lee needs surgery to repair leg fracture. Season most definitely over, regardless of how far #Isles go.

The injury occurred when his teammate Johnny Boychuk fired a slap shot from the point that struck Lee, who was posted up in front of the net as he so often is. Lee had trouble getting off the ice and did not return to the game.
Lee’s absence, compounded with the fact that Travis Hamonic will likely miss time in the postseason, means a tough road for the Islanders as they gear up for a possible matchup against the surging Pittsburgh Penguins.
Prior to the news today which confirmed the extent of the injury, Islanders head coach Jack Capuano stated that it didn’t look good immediately following the game.
Lee has 15 goals and 36 total points in 80 games this season. The Islanders, after defeating the New York Rangers last night, moved into third place in the Metropolitan Division. They’re currently tied with the Rangers with 99 points in the standings but still hold a game in hand.
