The Boston Pride of the NWHL and Rachel Llanes have agreed to terms on a contract for the 2016-17 season. The deal will pay Llanes $12,000, and was announced by general manager Hayley Moore on Friday.

“Llanes is the epitome of competitor,” Moore said. “She’s great at face-offs and adds versatility to our roster. Rachel’s speed, skill, and grit make her incredibly hard to play against. We are happy to welcome her back.”
Llanes was an integral piece in the Pride’s quest to the Isobel cup last season, and the team will look to continue their winning ways next season. Llanes played in 17 games last year with the Pride, and scored three goals and seven points, along with two game-winning goals.
“I am so excited to be back with the Pride this season,” Llanes said. “It’ll be another fun year; I’m looking forward to building off of what we accomplished last season. More importantly, I am honored to be a part of this league and grateful to have the opportunity to continue growing women’s ice hockey and being a part of history.”
The Pride also announced that they re-signed Emily Field to a one-year deal Friday, which furthers the point that they are all-in for another run at the league title next season.
