Montreal Canadiens superstar goalie Carey Price kicked off the 2015-16 season playing just like he did in 2014-15, at an incredibly high level.
Unfortunately for both him and the team, his year was put to an abrupt end due to a season-ending MCL injury after just 12 starts.
Montreal Canadiens goalie coach Stephane Waite revealed this week that the team will put a limit on how many games that Price will start this season, but it isn’t solely due to his injury stricken 2015-16 campaign.
The plan was actually in place going into last season, but the team couldn’t go through with it because of Price’s injury.

Waite didn’t say the exact number of starts that Carey Price will be limited to, but he made it clear that the 2014 Olympic gold medalist will be at full health once the World Cup of Hockey rolls around, a tournament that Price will likely be heavily featured in for Team Canada.
Since the 2010-11 season, Price has consistently appeared in 60+ games for the Habs, and the more he has played, the better he has performed. He has been a three-time all-star and a Vezina Trophy winner over the past five seasons.
With a healthy Carey Price back in the equation, the Montreal Canadiens will look to prove that last season’s bottom-10 finish wasn’t a sign of things to come.
The club dealt P.K. Subban to the Nashville Predators this offseason in exchange for Shea Weber and they made the controversial move of signing Russian forward Alexander Radulov.
