As we reported yesterday, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price left Montreal for New York yesterday to get another opinion on his lower body injury after missing a week of play.
Tuesday the team announced that the Vezina winner will miss another week, despite initially hoping they’d only be without the star for a week. Coach Michel Therrien says they expect Price back on the ice “pretty soon.”
Price has been out since giving up four goals to the Edmonton Oilers on October 29.
With an incredibly strong start to the season and back-up Mike Condon performing well, there is no need for the Habs to rush Price. They can make sure they’re entirely in the clear before bringing him back with Condon going 3-0-1 with a .927 save percentage in Price’s absence.

Condon was named the NHL’s third star of the week on Monday, behind Patrick Kane and Tyler Seguin, making for a very impressive start to his rookie season and allowing the coaching staff some assurance that things will be ok and that they don’t need to push Price too hard during the regular season.
Price has gone 7-2-0, posting a .936 save percentage and 2.01 goals-against average this season.
