The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Chris Casto to a one-year, two-way contract, according to TVA’s Renaud Lavoie. The team has not yet announced the signing.
The 24-year-old will earn $650,000 at the NHL level and $90,000 at the AHL level, with $102,500 guaranteed, according to General Fanager.
He’s spent the last three seasons playing for the Providence Bruins in the AHL following two years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Last season in Providence he played 68 games, scoring seven goals and 23 points. He has not yet made his NHL debut.
Casto was an RFA coming off of a three-year, entry-level deal. He’s expected to skate with Providence for the bulk of the year.
