The Ottawa Senators have signed defenseman Chris Wideman to a two-year contract extension worth an AAV of $800,000, the team announced Wednesday.
The actual cash in both years is $800,000
The 26-year-old made his NHL debut this season and has played 44 games for the Sens, over which he’s put up five goals and four assists while averaging 13 minutes per game.
His -0.93% CF%Rel ranks fourth among regular Senators defensemen, though his 59.25 CA60 is only better than Cody Ceci (and the recently departed Jared Cowen).
This season he’s playing on a one-year, two-way deal that pays $600,00. The extension, in addition to being a 33% pay raise, is a one-way contract.
