Mats Lindgren (born August 26, 2004) is a Canadian-Swedish ice hockey player, recently playing for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He was a member of the Canadian team to win a bronze medal at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games, and was invited to the 2022 Top Prospects Game. Lindgren was selected 106th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Lindgren appeared in 26 games over two years with the Blazers before his 2021-22 campaign, where he amassed five goals and 44 points in 68 games. Son of a former first-round pick in 1993, his bloodline and proven intangibles as an offensive defenseman make him an intriguing prospect to look out for in the next couple of seasons. He’s committed to returning to Kamloops for the 2022-23 season, shortly after turning 18.
