Matthew Irwin (born November 29, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing under contract with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Irwin has previously played in the NHL for the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres.
