Matyas Sapovaliv (born February 12, 2004) is a Czechia ice hockey player, recently playing for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After spending four years with the Rytiri Kladno organization in the Czech Republic, Sapovaliv made his North American hockey debut in Saginaw, finishing his rookie year with 18 goals and 52 points in 68 games. He was selected 48th overall by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Sapovaliv represented Czechia at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, finishing the tournament with four points in four games but failing to win a medal. He’s represented his country on five occasions, and is likely to return to Saginaw for the 2022-23 season in order to continue developing his game at the North American level.
