Patrik Štefan (born 16 September 1980) is a Czech former professional ice hockey player who was drafted first overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
He is infamously known for missing an empty net on a breakaway with time ticking away in regulation during a game against the Edmonton Oilers in 2007, leading directly to the tying goal moments later.
