Randy Ladouceur (born June 30, 1960) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Anaheim Ducks during the 1995-96 season. Undrafted at the NHL level, Ladouceur played parts of two seasons in 1983 and 1984 with the Detroit Red Wings and their AHL affiliate Adirondack Red Wings before becoming an NHL regular for the 1984-85 season. He was later traded to the Hartford Whalers during the 1986-87 season, and quickly established himself as a defenseman to be feared. He served as the team’s captain for two of the final three seasons with the Whalers, and became the alternate captain for the final year before his move to the then Mighty Ducks as part of the expansion draft.
In Anaheim, Ladouceur began his three-year stint as an alternate captain, registering one goal and nine assists in 80 games. The following season, he took over the captaincy from Troy Loney, becoming the second captain of the franchise’s history. In his final two seasons, Ladouceur and the Mighty Ducks were unable to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and he announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 1995-96 season. In 931 career games, he amassed 156 points (30 goals, 126 assists) and 1,322 penalty minutes.
From the late 1990s until the late 2010s, Ladouceur held several assistant coaching positions in the NHL, AHL, and Ontario Hockey League.
