Sam Carrick (born February 04, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently under contract with the New York Rangers. Carrick was selected 144th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. After spending four years with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), serving as an alternate captain in his third year and then captain in his final season, he made his pro-level debut with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Carrick spent four seasons split between the AHL and the NHL, earning a total 19 games with the Maple Leafs. The remainder of his time was spent with the Marlies, where he served as an alternate captain in three seasons. After he wasn’t tendered a qualifying offer, Carrick signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. He spent the duration of his time in the AHL before a trade shipped him out to the Ducks in a three-player deal. Carrick played a career-high 64 games during the 2021-22 season, earning his way up the depth chart while serving as the San Diego Gulls’ captain for three years.
