Sergei Berezin (born November 5, 1971) is a former Russian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals during the 2002-2003 season. Drafted 256th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Berezin played in two seasons with Kölner Haie of the Deutsh Eishockey League (DEL), winning the DEL Championship in 1995, before joining Toronto for the 1996-97 season. Fresh off being named DEL Player of the Year and leading the league in goals with 49, Berezin registered 41 points in 73 as a rookie with the Maple Leafs. He spent five seasons in Toronto, recording three 20-goal seasons and a career-high 37-goal campaign. In the summer of 2001, he was traded to he Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Mikael Renberg.
His final two seasons involved Berezin being traded three times, appearing for four different franchises. In 2002-03, he reached the 20-goal mark for the fourth and final time, as a member of the Capitals and Blackhawks. With Washington, he appeared in six post-season games, registering one assist and finishing a minus-2. This would mark the last time Berezin would play in the NHL, opting to play the final year of his career in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with CSKA Moskva. He registered one goal and three assists, calling it a career at the conclusion of the season.
Internationally, Berezin represented Russia on seven occasions, capturing a silver medal at the 1991 IIHF World Junior Championship. In a combined 36 international games, he finished with 34 points (23 goals, 11 assists).
