The Florida Panthers have re-signed right wing Logan Shaw to a one-year, two-way contract, according to TSN. The deal carries a value of $660,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 in the AHL, according to General Fanager.
The 23-year-old forward made his NHL debut last season, grabbing 53 games with the Cats, scoring five goals and seven points in a depth role. Part of his high game count was the team battling injuries in the forward group through large swaths of the season. He saw ice in just three of the team’s postseason contests.
The 2011 3rd round draft pick (76th overall) has spent the last three seasons grabbing games with the club’s AHL affiliates. When he wasn’t in Sunrise last year, he played 19 games with the Portland Pirates where he scored 11 goals and three assists.
For the Panthers, Shaw largely played a third-line role on the wing. There, he posted a -3.4% CF%Rel, falling on the bottom half of team forwards in Corsi for and Corsi against as a rate. The bridge deal will have him as a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
