The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Thursday that they have signed the 2015 NHL Entry Draft’s 24th overall pick, Travis Konecny, to an entry-level contract.
Konecny played for the Ottawa 67’s last year in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), scoring 29 goals and 39 assists through 60 games as the captain of the 67’s. That’s almost exactly what he did the season before when he put in 26 goals and 44 assists through 63 games for the 67’s.

McGuire Award of Excellence,” which “is presented to the draft-eligible prospect who best exemplifies the commitment to excellence through strength of character, competitiveness and athleticism.”
The Flyers signed their other first round pick Ivan Provorov (7th overall) to an entry-level deal on July 3.
