Carolina Hurricanes Executive Vice President and General Manager Ron Francis announced Monday afternoon that the team has reacquired the services of blueliner Dennis Robertson from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

The 24-year-old Robertson was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Robertson was a member of Carolina’s AHL affiliate Charlotte Checkers, playing one game in the 2013-14 season and 57 in the 2014-15 season. In his 58 games with Charlotte, Robertson recorded three goals and 14 assists. Robertson laced his skates on 37 occasions for the Rockford IceHogs scoring to goals and adding three helpers.
The 32-year-old MacIntyre was drafted in the fourth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings and has made a career out of tending goal in the AHL. He has been a member of the Checkers since the 2014-15 season. MacIntyre has a goals-against-average of 3.09 and an 11-13-1 record so far this season.
