The St. Louis Blues lost key defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk during Tuesday’s 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames.
Shattenkirk was injured during the game and went down the tunnel, with the team announcing in-game that he wouldn’t return.
The team has not yet offered a status update as to where Shattenkirk stands going forward. Him missing any significant amount of time again this season would be a big loss for the team’s blue line. He brings a skill set that is not easily replaced.

The team will get help from an unexpected place, with rookie defenseman Colton Parayko playing solid so far this season and grabbing a pair of goals in Tuesday night’s game.
The Blues are being bit by the injury bug early with rookie Robby Fabbri out indefinitely with a concussion.
