The Minnesota Wild have been without some key pieces of the puzzle over their last stretch, which includes some troubles winning on the road.
One of those missing pieces has been defenseman Marco Scandella, who has been one of their best defenders this season. Scandella missed some time dealing with a personal matter, then came back and got injured very soon after.
It looks like he won’t be back any time this week, with the Star Tribune’s Michael Russo saying that Scandella is “likely out for the weekend.”
The Wild start a three-game stretch at home this week with the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday, followed by games on Friday and Saturday. That puts the earliest he’ll be back in the lineup as Tuesday’s road game in Chicago.

That keeps Scandella out of the lineup at least as long as the team will be without Zach Parise after it was announced on Monday that he is also likely to miss the next three games.
Outside of Scandella and Parise the team is also missing key depth forward Justin Fontaine and rookie center Tyler Graovac, who has been out since the season opener.
Through 15 games this season Scandella has three goals and three assists with a -3.21% score-adjusted CF%Rel and a -2.52% ZSO%Rel. He set a career-high in goals (11) and points (23) last season.
