It appears that Anaheim Ducks forward Matt Beleskey is set to hit free agency on July, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.
Unless talks with the Ducks escalate unexpectedly this week, plan is for Matt Beleskey to become an unrestricted free agent July 1. #TSN

There were reports last week that Beleskey and the Ducks had been discussing a contract extension, but the report from Dreger, later confirmed by Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register, indicates that the two camps aren’t finding much of a middle ground.
The 27-year-old forward had a big season in his contract year, scoring a career-high 22 goals (previous high was 11) and 32 points. He also had an outstanding postseason, scoring eight goals and nine points in 16 games.
Beleskey is coming off a two-year deal that paid him an AAV of $1.35 million. He and his agent will be looking for a significant raise on the back of this season’s performance. But with just a single season of those numbers.
