Pending restricted free agent Max Reinhart, who served as an alternate captain for the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals this season, has signed a contract with Kölner Haie in Germany’s DEL for next season.
Reinhart, older brother of NHLers Sam and Griffin, was acquired by the Predators in July 2015 from the Calgary Flames for a conditional 4th round draft pick. The Flames drafted him in the 3rd round (64th overall) of the 2010 draft.
He played 11 NHL games with the Flames during the 2010-11 season. Then, over the next two seasons he grabbed a couple games each, totaling 23 NHL games in his career. However, he never got up to the big club with the Predators last season, despite their lack of center depth.
The 24-year-old put up 23 goals and 38 points for the Admirals, which was a step down from previous AHL production. Two years before he had posted 21 goals and 63 points in seven fewer contests, showing off what was his most touted asset at the time: his strong passing ability and solid hockey sense.
