NCHC Hockey: 10 Must Follow Twitter Accounts

Since 2013-14 is the inaugural season for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, I thought I would give you my top 10 Twitter accounts from the NCHC.  From this blogger’s perspective, these are the top 10 Twitter accounts that will give you the up to date coverage of what’s going on in the NCHC.

First, you definitely want to follow the official Twitter feed for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. After having a rough start when it comes to web page rollouts, the NCHC finally has a very sharp looking web page. The NCHC web page also has a fan zone for each individual team.

Josh Fenton National Collegiate Hockey Conference Commissioner (@Fenton_JC)

I can’t think of a better person to follow than  Josh Fenton, Commissioner of the NCHC. Get up to date information about the NCHC straight from Commissioner Fenton.  Fenton has a strong hockey background and was the Miami  Senior Associate Athletic Director for  Business and Finance.

 

 

Brad Elliot Schlossman Beat Writer, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks Herald (@SchlossmanGF )

Brad Elliot Schlossman is regarded as one of the better beat writers in college hockey. Schlossman is on the cutting edge of what’s hip in college hockey. Schlossman is a must follow twitter account if you’re interested in UND Hockey.

 

Mick Hatten Beat Writer, Saint Cloud State Huskies, Saint Cloud Times (@MickHatten)

Mick Hatten is one of my favorite beat writers in college hockey. Hatten is responsible for covering the Saint Cloud State Huskies.  Lastly, Hatten maintains one of the better media hockey blogs in college hockey.

 

Joe Paisley Beat Writer Colorado College Tigers, Colorado Spring Gazette (@Paisleyhockey)

Joe Paisley is one of the harder working beat writers in college hockey. Paisley checks out all of the fan and media blogs daily, and he isn’t afraid to give non-traditional web media members some ink.  Lastly, in addition to covering the Colorado College Tigers, Paisely also covers the Air Force Academy Falcons as well. Mike Chambers University of Denver, Beat Writer, Denver Post (@mikechambers)

Mike Chambers covers the University of Denver hockey team and the Colorado Avalanche for the Denver Post.  Chambers is known for his thought provoking blog posts, and he’s not afraid to engage the fans of other college hockey teams.

 

Jason Hajdu, Sports Information Director, University of North Dakota (@UNDSID)

Jason Hajdu, Sports Information Director, University of North Dakota is a wealth of information when it comes to UND hockey.  Hajdu has put UND hockey on the cutting edge of the new media. The UNDSID also oversees Through These Doors, a weekly reality show focusing on the UND hockey team.

 

  David Drew Beat Writer Western Michigan Broncos, Kalamazoo Gazette (@Drew_on_WMU)

David Drew covers the Western Michigan Broncos Hockey and Football team. Drew is a solid beat writer that runs a pretty thorough media blog covering Western Michigan football and hockey. I enjoy reading his articles on the Western Michigan Broncos hockey team.

 

Dave Starman, Hockey Analyst, CBS Sports Net (@DStarmanHockey)

Dave Starman is the college hockey game analyst for CBS Sports Net. You can read his columns at College Hockey News and US College Hockey on Line.  Starman is a former Central Hockey League coach with the Memphis River Kings.  Starman is also a scout with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

If you’re a fan of the University of Miami RedHawks, you can get updates about the University of Miami RedHawks from their official Twitter feed. You can also check out the school’s official web page as well. Miami is also know as the Cradle of Coaches.

The University of Miami is in Florida…guess UND will learn the hard way who the Red Hawks are.
