The National Women’s Hockey League announced today the addition of Craig Muni to the Buffalo Beauts’ coaching staff.
Muni will join Ric Seiling as co-coach of the team. This will not be the first time the pair have coached together.
Craig and I have coached together before, when our sons played together. We have history, and his wealth of knowledge from his playing career is something that will be invaluable to the Beauts this season.
- Ric Seiling – General Manager and Coach of the Buffalo Beauts
Muni is taking his role as coach to help players reach their dreams. To him it’s much more than a coaching job.
I’m hoping to be able to work with the newer, younger players and help them with their development so they have a chance to aspire and achieve their goals, whatever they might be. Whether those are Olympic teams, national teams, or something else, to be able to see those dreams to the end would be great.

Drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1980, Muni is no stranger to professional hockey.
Over 16 years, Muni played in 819 NHL games racking up 28 goals and 119 assists. He played for the Maple Leafs, Oilers, Blackhawks, Sabres, Jets, Penguins, and Stars over the course of his career.
Muni’s greatest success came while playing with the Oilers. He won the Stanley Cup three times and led the league in three times in plus minus while with the team.
Even though Muni retired in 1998, he stayed involved with the alumni groups of the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs.
