Final NHL roster additions are swarming in for the 2016 World Championship. Added to the list are Tomas Plekanec and David Pastrnak, who will play for the Czech National Team.
Despite an incredible season, 44-year-old Jaromir Jagr will not be taking part in the tournament, despite receiving an invite, according to Zdenek Janda, who reports that Jagr appreciates the invite, but is exhausted after the season.
Plekanec and Pastrnak will be big additions for the Czech squad, giving them some good fire power up front. The 33-year-old Plekanec scored 14 goals and 40 assists in 82 games for the Habs during a disappointing season overall.
Additionally, Zdenek Matejovsky reports that Plekanec will captain the Czech team.
Pastrnak, a 19-year-old budding star, scored a career-high 15 goals and 11 assists in 51 games for the Bruins this year. His involvement was announced on the team’s Instagram account.
