Highlight of the Year: Calle Jarnkrok’s goal of the year came in a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on February 24. After being a healthy scratch the previous game, Jarnkrok answered with a breakaway goal 4:12 into the game.
Strengths: Jarnkrok is a regular penalty killer because of his speed and tenacity. He’s a great playmaker offensively, but he had a down year in point production in 2014-15.
Weaknesses: Jarnkrok does not play a physical game with his lack of size at 165 lbs. He needs to put more weight on for next season if he wants to survive in the NHL. Faceoffs were not a strong suit for Jarnkrok, which can be explained why he was shifted to the wing for parts of last year.
What to Expect Next Season: Jarnkrok has a lot of potential. It would be shocking if general manager David Poile does not re-sign the RFA this offseason. The Predators have until June 30 to tender a qualifying offer to Jarnkrok before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
