The New York Islanders are making some roster changes for Game 5 of their opening round series against the Florida Panthers. Those changes will see Ryan Strome scratched, reports Newsday’s Arthur Staple.
With the series tied 2-2 and headed back to Sunrise, the 22-year-old will take a seat in the press box. He’s recorded one goal and one assist through four games, along with nine shots and an average ice time of only 13:41.
Drawing into the lineup in place of Strome will be Steve Bernier, who played just 24 games for the Isles this season. He recorded one goal and six points in those games.
In their last contest, Strome ranked third on the team in Corsi Differential, but registered just a single shot attempt himself. Over the four-game stretch he has a 9.83% score-adjusted CF%Rel, which is fourth on the team and basically the top mark of anyone who isn’t tethered to John Tavares.
Game 5 is set for a 8pm ET start on Friday.
