In just his second game back with the team since missing three games with an upper body injury, Tyler Johnson was injured again.
The injury occurred during Friday’s loss to the Washington Capitals, in which Johnson only made it through one shift before heading back to the locker room. He did not return to the game and, as the Tampa Tribune’s Erik Erlendsson notes, there wasn’t a reason given, so the injury is presumed to be the cause.
Additionally, coach Jon Cooper offered no update on Johnson’s status after the game.
He remains questionable for Saturday’s game where the Lightning will return home for the tail end of a back-to-back.
On the season, Johnson has four goals and seven assists through 21 games.
No update on Johnson after the game, Cooper said too early to say he can't play tomorrow but hard to see him being able to go

Any continued absence from Johnson would be a blow to the team who hasn’t really put together a string of strong games yet this season and is currently without the services of Cedric Paquette, Ondrej Palat and Jonathan Drouin, depleting their young forward group significantly.
