The Dallas Stars, up 1-0 in their series against the Minnesota Wild, got some good news Saturday night. Star forward Tyler Seguin returns for Game 2 of the series.
Seguin took warm-ups, as the Stars rolled out 13 forwards for line rushes. Seguin swapped in and out of the fourth line with Colton Sceviour before the team announced that he will in fact return for Game 2.
Seguin has been out of the lineup since March 17 when he suffered a 15% cut of his Achilles tendon. Seguin may not start the game as a full-time top-line forward as he normally does. He didn’t take line rushes in his normal spot, though his first shift was as a wing on a line with Cody Eakin and Jamie Benn.
That’s a shuffling around of position and lines, but Coach Lindy Ruff does want to see if Seguin can handle top-line duty.
Taking a seat will be rookie forward Mattias Janmark, who logged just 10:34 of ice time in Game 1. He put two shots on net in his 16 shifts, with a minus-3 Corsi differential at even strength.
Here are the lines to start the game:
