Pulock suffered the injury in the third period of an eventual 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night. The injured occurred on the shift in which the Panthers scored their go ahead goal. Pulock went to the Islanders’ locker room and did not return.
It was reported yesterday that he did not travel with the team to Florida, the setting for tonight’s game five matchup. Reports that he would miss at least the remainder of this series began to surface but nothing was confirmed until the Islanders released the statement above.
Pulock has struggled throughout the series with Florida. He’s currently the Islanders’ worst defenseman in terms of possession, possessing a minus-25 shot attempt differential. Though, he has recorded a goal and three total points thus far.
During the regular season, Pulock played just 15 games at the NHL level, recording two goals and four total points. In 51 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL, he netted seven goals and 24 points.
According to NewsDay.Com, Marek Zidlicky will get the nod to replace Pulock in the lineup.
