USA Hockey has sent home Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Glendening, the team announced Monday. They are set to start exhibition games in advance of the 2016 World Championships and, according to Julie Robenhymer, Glendening is unable to participate due to a lingering injury.
Details on the injury are not available at the moment, and USA Hockey has not announced a replacement for his roster spot.

The 27-year-old was available to Team USA after the Red Wings were eliminated in five first-round games at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He put up 21 points in 81 games for the Wings this season and was prepped to play in his first international tournament for the U.S.
