In the second National Women’s Hockey League game on Sunday — the opening day of the inaugural season — the Boston Pride played a roadie against the Buffalo Beauts.
The Pride got the best of the Beauts early, leading 3-0 after two periods of play and outshooting the Beauts 29 to 15. But it was U.S. National Team star Hilary Knight who was really stealing the show. She scored the Pride’s first two goals, including the first goal in team history.
